ABOUT THE EDITOR
"Follies and nonsense, whims and inconsistencies, do divert me, I own, and I laugh at them whenever I can." ~Elizabeth Bennet, Pride & Prejudice
Christina Boyd wears many hats as she is a great reader, an editor under her own banner, The Quill Ink, LLC, a dedicated reviewer, and a ceramicist. Since 2013, Christina has worked with over thirty authors, self-published five anthologies, and edited numerous Jane Austen-inspired, contemporary and historical romance, and chicklit books. By the end of 2020, she will have edited forty-five books in seven years. A life member of Jane Austen Society of North America, Christina lives quietly in the wilds of the Pacific Northwest in the United States with her dear Mr. B—now her young adults have gone off to college. Visiting Jane Austen's England was made possible by actor Henry Cavill when she won the Omaze experience to meet him atop the London Eye in the spring of 2017. True story. You can Google it.
Content edit: As an indie contractor, Christina assures content is concise, correct, easy to comprehend, and maintains continuity in its details. When more substantive editing is required, she works one-on-one with the author to address weaknesses in story structure, inconsistent pacing, poor character development, and contrivances.
Line edit: A line edit entails a review of each line to prepare for publication and proofreading for grammar, punctuation, spelling, consistency, and word usage.
Final proofing: Proofing is a last run-through to catch surface problems. It is not re-working the text or re-arranging content. Think: correcting cosmetic errors/last step/final eyes.
