REVIEW by Christina Boyd
“...she could never rid herself of the feeling that some small corner of her soul was forever cordoned off, reserved for this man who wanted her, but not enough.”
Author Christina Morland is adept at crafting nail-biting scenes of suspense, longing for our dear couples, and building up to a tantalizingly satisfying ending. A beautifully reimagined historical romance, expertly characterizing Austen originals and new. This tautly plotted saga from Pride and Prejudice to 1837 is told in layers, not a linear timeline at all, yet a web—tales woven together over and around a twenty-five-year span. Make sure you have a handkerchief close. Such delicious angst. In a field of many Austenesque romances, this is an incomparable book that has much to recommend. This is just the kind of story that has me coming back to Jane Austen-inspired books. One of my forever favorites!
Seasons of Waiting, beautifully narrated by Elizabeth Grace, is well worth one—or two—thoughtful listens. And at some 27 hours of audiobook, that's saying something. Elizabeth Grace’s voice, performance, and production are pitch perfect.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Christina Morland spent the first two decades of her life with no knowledge of Pride and Prejudice—or any Jane Austen novel, for that matter. After overcoming this childhood affliction, she became a devoted fan of all things Austen.
Morland is the author of three Pride and Prejudice variations, a Sense and Sensibility variation, and three Austenesque short stories featured in the Quill Collective anthologies. She is currently at work on a new Pride and Prejudice variation, as well as a fantasy novel that has nothing at all to do with Jane Austen.
When not writing, Morland tries to keep up with her creative, mischievous daughter and her maddeningly brilliant husband. She lives in a place not unlike Hogwarts (minus Harry, Dumbledore, magic, and Scotland), and likes to think of herself as an excellent walker.

Many thanks, Christina, for your kind and thoughtful review! I can't say often enough how much I love Elizabeth Grace's narration. It was so great to work with her...and it's all thanks to you, as you introduced me to her through Elizabeth: Obstinate, Headstrong Girl!
I still need to read this one, but I love her books so its a when not if. Now, you have me curious to try Elizabeth George narrating it.
